About this place
The “Flat Plate” puts vegetables delivered directly from local farmers at the heart of lunch. Listed at 1,600 yen, the changing vegetable plate pairs seasonal produce with a hamburger steak or fish dish, and comes with a choice of Kurokage rice or white rice. The menu says larger portions and refills of rice are free, making it an appealing option when you are hungry. A half-size plate is available for a lighter meal.
One diner who had the half-size vegetable plate for lunch found the serving of vegetables and hamburger steak “plenty”. Another visitor chose teriyaki chicken and described it as tender, with lots of vegetables. Depending on your mood, you can opt for a vegetable-led plate or chicken.
For dessert or a tea break, try the rice-flour chiffon cake. Flavours include plain, Earl Grey, chocolate marble, matcha, yuzu and Daitokuji natto; one diner who tried the Earl Grey version enjoyed its aroma. Others have praised the cake’s fluffy texture. The menu lists “Murasaki no Chiffon” at 400 yen, or 700 yen with coffee. French toast comes generously topped with kinako and kuromitsu, while parfaits are available in strawberry and vanilla or matcha and vanilla. There are plenty of reasons to drop in for something sweet.
Breakfast options include toast with salad and a drink, or a set with rice balls, miso soup and tea. With breakfast on the menu, the café works for a morning meal as well as a lunch or a coffee-and-sweets break. Children’s chairs and a kids’ menu are available, and one visitor mentioned picture books and a play area. It is also described as suitable for solo dining, so it can work for a family lunch or a quiet coffee and light bite on your own.
